......will only make you stronger

Everything we do, that is harder, makes us stronger. You build up physical strength by ever increasing the weight you exercise with or distance you run. You build your mental capacities by studying materials of an ever increasing intellect.

You are not stronger because you sit on your backside replaying the same video game day after day! Nor are you helping yourself if you suffer in silence. Others will never know how you are affected by their ignorance. Life becomes a never ending "video game" with no input coming from your controller.

So my message is "Do It". Whatever it takes that will move you forward, that will help you be stronger, both physically and in spirit. You must be able to lift yourself up and while helping others to do the same.

A brisk and beautiful Fall day

All the ingredients are here. Temps in the 50's, a chilly North wind and commercials for high ranked college football games for Saturday.

If you like that kind of thing (attending football games) you had better take a blanket or two. It's fun for awhile but when you can't feel your toes and swear one touch to your nose would break it right off your face.

No thanks. That's why they invented television and central heating systems. Although I will admit to having been tempted to, against my better judgement, attend a game or two in my younger days. To add insult to injury there is not a stadium seat made that will fit my frame. So with leg cramps in permafrost muscles I say again......No Thanks! I'll try and not yell too loudly from the family room!

Oh, just get over it! I am

Easier said than done. Ever been told to get over something? We all know that life isn't fair, but wow this can be really hard.

Humans seem to carry things around. Keep information, anger, emotional pain and all the other baggage locked up inside. Bad things bumping around inside your head, and even worse inside your heart. Things boiling around for years and even decades, ready to spill out. And when it does find a  way to the surface (often at inopportune times) it will eat steel as would battery acid.

So with whatever methods you need  to  employ  "get over it". By that I mean with all my heart.... don't carry that stuff  around with you. Work it out, talk it out, cry it out. Do anything you need to so you are free of the burdens you have placed on your own back. Life is too short and too beautiful to miss some of it counting your burdens.

Is this a great country or what?

Yes it is! I was up at a little after 5  this morning so I could go to the polls when they opened at 6:30, wait in line and still make it to work on time.

Maybe in the storm of political wrangling a single vote looks "lost at sea". I do however totally believe that it is a God given right and a privilege purchased with the blood and the lives of brave men and women who founded, built and protected this great nation so myself and my family can try and find the best and brightest to honor the Constitution through elected office.

I appeal to you to participate in this wonderful public/private process. Put in your two cents worth when circumstances dictate. Protect the privilege.

not a matter of time

What a nice treat. We forgot to "fall back" last evening. We didn't set our clocks back to keep in sync with the world as we know it.

So,  when I was awakened to my body clock's normal timekeeping,  I was pleasantly surprised to remember the benefits of man's tinkering and manipulation.

Then,  after enjoying the extra hour of stolen slumber, I was greeted with rays of sunshine through the bathroom window   Much more fun than the darkness that has ruled that time slot. Hope it was as good  for you  too.

Love to you all....... DadPatt

November First

This date marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping/holiday season. Am I not right? I noticed it first thing this morning when I turned on the TV, right in the middle of Santa Clause pitching the pleasures of purchasing a new luxury model foreign car.

They could employ fake elves to try and convince you to vote for an equally fake candidate in next Tuesday's elections. Really put credibility to the test

The weather has cooperated and cooled to a seasonal 47 degrees (as opposed to the 81 degrees just a few days ago). So maybe I should cool down and learn to live with the idiocy we call life in America today.

Complaint Department

I'd like to lodge a complaint!
I'M SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THE POLITICAL ADS ON TV.

It's so irritating, and never ending. What a shame. A pox upon their houses.

I  know they will be over soon but spending over $100 million on political ads in one state for a Senatorial seat is almost criminal.

As of next week we can get back to our regular commercials. No,  I guess that's not going to happen.... It's time to crank up the wine, jewelry and perfume commercials for THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!

There is a funeral today

One of our church members, the sweetest little Grandma, passed away this week. As it always does, causes me to pause and contemplate the vastness of the universe. To marvel at the reason and purpose of our being.

It's good to know where we  came from, why we are here and where we are going. It's comforting to have the promise of resurrection and salvation along with the knowledge of how it works.

I promise that not only myself and my family, but everyone, along with all the sweet little Grandma's and their families, will be resurrected through the power of the Savior Jesus Christ. They will come forth on the morning of the first resurrection, body and Spirit reunited. Made whole and perfected! Rest in Peace.

Love to you all.      DadPatt

The way things ought to be

Did you ever notice that very rarely does an organization achieve, or even attempt to attain, a level of performance anywhere near a decent standard
A good training program or a well designed inventory system are too often ruined or dragged down to a sub-par level by allowing people to create "exceptions" to the rule.
The norm is dragged down to the level of the operator rather than the standards lifting up the whole group or organization.
C"mon man! When you allow individuals to lower your individual or business  standards you give them the power and control. Don't do it!

Friends

Friend, hard to find. Precious as gold. If you don't have any your are missing one  of life's greatest gifts.
Always remember, the expense related to having someone cherished as your friend,  is the time you must invest in others.
Really appreciated, strong and consistent relationships are based on a mutual respect. You cannot force it. Look for the chemistry, enjoy, relax. Offer your time,  be positive and totally honest!
OMG....... I've described a marriage. My marriage. Yes,  she is precious as gold. Celebrating 39 years this Saturday. I'm grateful. Thanks precious friend.

The morning after

Well I slept on it,  I think I'll give it a try. It's a little easier now that I'll be using my android. Having it with me should expand my opportunities to put my thoughts on post.
If anybody is watching I will have to give my disclaimer right up front  - I'm not into blogging to make it an income stream or a technical masterpiece.  I only hope to share my life as a father, husband,  brother and son. My life experiences will also undoubtedly include the role of friend.
May you all have a wonderful day. Let's  talk again soon...
Love to you all,  DADPATT

What a surprise!!!

Guess what I found.... A blog I started back in 2009! It pointed out to me that Google knows, and keep all. We are not alone. Many changes in my life since 2009....birth of four grandchildren, my retirement and the diagnosis of Parkinson disease. Well let me get my thoughts together and see if I can commit a reasonable and consistent dedication to this endeavor. Till then. Love you all, DadPatt
